Here’s what Death Angel vocalist, Mark Osegueda, had to say about the coming dates – “Every year one of the ultimate highlights for Death Angel is playing the outdoor open air festivals, both in Spring and Summer!! From pulling into the city to getting backstage and catching up with old friends from other bands, and making new ones. Also getting out in the crowd, and reconnecting with fans new and old, bonding over the power and love for music! Ted and Will have arrived so naturally the vibe level kicked up a notch… got the mics up on the kit and ready to fire away! ~Rob 03/03/10: Death Angel Studio Report, Part I: Good Morning! After months of writing and pre-production in our Oakland rehearsal studio, I’m suddenly a temporary resident of Sanford, Florida! I have travelled across the country to begin the process of recording our new album at Audio Hammer Studios and tonight we kicked in the action. Monday was all about getting acquainted, listening to music, getting a vibe and discussing the game plan. Tonight we worked on tempos, arrangements, riffs and guitar harmonies… getting right down to the core of the songs. I laid down scratch guitar tracks for the first 4 songs and damn how they have blossomed from the original ideas! I’m really liking where we are going so far… just the scratch tracks sound sick! Jason and I seem to be off to a good start. The vibe is on and we are both night owls so we’re on the same wavelength… which is important if magic is to be weaved! It’s rather late (early?) so I better hit the sack as I expect an intense long session tomorrow (today). Ted and Will arrive late tonight and I plan to have all the scratch guitar tracks recorded by Thursday evening when we begin tracking drums. Looking forward to a productive and enjoyable time making this record out here. This tour is basically the Clash of the Titans tour from 1990-1991 revisited featuring Slayer, Megadeth and Testament. Most folks do not know that Death Angel was supposed to be the 4th band on the bill 20 years ago on the original Clash of the Titans Tour but was unable to participate due to the tragic bus accident on the road during the Act III tour of 1990. A virtually unknown band called Alice In Chains was given the slot. San Francisco Bay Area thrashers DEATH ANGEL played the Jalometalli Festival in Oulu, Finland recently where lead singer Mark Osegueda was recently interviewed. DA guitarist, Rob Cavestany, had this to say about the experience: "It’s great to be back home but we miss Finland already! What a blast we had headlining the Jalometalli Festival last weekend! 20 years have come and gone since we were last there and the fans were as crazy as they were 2 decades ago… We played a 95 minute set and it felt like it was over so fast… time sure does fly when you are having fun. Special thanks to Ari and all at Full Steam. Also the entire staff working the festival were totally pro and made for a smooth event… horns up to each and every one of you! (with special guest Skinlab) on Saturday August 29th, and Speedfest in Eindhoven, HOLLAND on Saturday November 28th. DEATH ANGEL recently issued a DVD (and separate CD in the North American territory) with two full-length concerts filmed in Germany.
